Xiao-Bo Chen
In 2000, Xiao-Bo Chen made her Carnegie Hall debut after winning a prize in the Frinna Awerbuch Competition in New York. She has also performed as a soloist with various Orchestras including the Fort Worth Orchestra. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reviewed that her performance of the Beethoven Third Piano Concerto "presented both thunder and impetuosity."
Xiao-Bo Chen was born into a musical family in Shanghai and graduated from the prestigious High School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music with top honors. Piano competitions won by Ms. Chen include the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Spain, and Martin Memorial Piano Competition at TCU, among others.
She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from University of North Texas College of Music, the Performer’s Certificate and Artist Diploma from the Texas Christian University School of Music. Ms. Chen has studied with Xiao Min and Lin Er-Yao from the Shanghai Conservatory of music, John Owings from TCU and Pamela Mia Paul from UNT.
